1859? Report of the Joint Select Committee on the improvement on the Tar River. After reviewing the history of these improvements, which were not
completed for lack of funds, the committee indicated that the state was "honor bound" to pay debts already incurred. In addition, some of the land had
been sold, but sufficient remained to pay off outstanding liabilities. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of titles originally held by the University
