1859? Report of the Joint Select Committee to review the management of the Western North Carolina Railroad. Based on statements from the president
and engineer of the company, as well as certain attached documents, the committee concluded that solvency issues existed with respect to certain
subscribers, and that the underlying laws regarding the chartering of this and similar institutions would need legislative intervention to correct.
