1859 Report of the Committee on Internal Improvements regarding a bill to incorporate the Greenville & French Broad Railroad. The committee
concluded that the differences in gauges on North Carolina as compared to adjoining states, and the resulting trans-shipment issues was significant. Although
the bill was recommended only in a very specific basis, The final recommendation was to suspend the bill until the legislature addressed the above
