1858 General Assembly resolutions regarding currency. Among the raised issues, the legislature blamed the paper money system, and thus listed various methods to reform same. Included was a prohibition on any certificates of deposits, promissory notes, or bill less than five dollars; strict limitations on banking schemes; as well as other fiscal suggestions.
