1852 Senate bill to incorporate the French Broad Railroad Company which would construct a railroad from Spartanburg or Greenville, South Carolina to
meet with the Virginia and East Tennessee Railroad in East Tennessee, across the western portion of North Carolina along the French Broad River. The
bill provided for the subscription procedure, as well as all corporate matters, powers and duties. Also included were provisions for compensation for
