1852 Report of Senate Select Committee on Fisheries regarding the encouragement of fishing in the eastern part of North Carolina. The committee
found that the current statutes were in need of reform to equalize the opportunities for commercial fishing; a bill was attached to that end. This bill
prohibited fishing with sein, drag or set net in certain areas and at certain times. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of titles originally held by the
