Description and Holding Information
Senate. Comm. on Slavery. Minority report & resolutions, 1850
1859 Resolutions on the subject of slavery, which were submitted by Mr. Raynor in the House of Commons. Noting that the Northern states should not
interference with the slave-holding states' "domestic institutions," the resolution called for slaveholders to emigrate to territories, District of
Columbia should be allowed to have 1850 House Committee Report and Resolutions of the Minority or the Committee on Negro Slavery. The minority
supported the resolution of the majority, but stated in an additional resolution that North Carolina could succeed from the Union whenever the majority of its
people agreed in convention that the federal government failed in its constitutional duties to the state. See LLMC #21681 for an identical House
