Senate. Sel. Comm. on Nag's Head inlet. Report, 1850
1850 Report of the Senate Select Committee on the re-opening of Nag's Head Inlet between the Atlantic Ocean and the Albemarle Sound. The committee
referred to a 1825 engineering study by Hamilton Fulton, which supported this construction, as well as newer ones which reconfirmed the above
conclusion. Attached were resolutions which supported the project, considered the federal government as the appropriate source for funding the construction,
and called upon the North Carolina Senators and Representative to get this project passed in Congress. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of titles
originally held by the Library of Congress).
