1838 Senate Committee report regarding a system of internal improvements in the state. Using examples from New York and Pennsylvania, the report
noted that these states incurred significant debts in improvements throughout their states. While not opposed to lending money for companies to make
needed improvements, the report noted the most pressing ones, in attached resolutions, for the Senate's consideration. (Digitized from a microfilm copy
