1829 Report of the Select Committee on the bill for education of the poor children of North Carolina. After reviewing various plans, the committee
determined that it favored the bill in which certain poor children would be selected for education at the neighborhood schools along with their
tuition. General schools would also be built as part of this bill. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of titles originally held by the University of North
