1851 Message from Governor David S. Reid to the General Assembly of North Carolina at the special session called on October 4, 1852. The governor
suggested this session, given that the number of elector was reduced from eleven to ten after the 1859 United State census. In addition Reid submitted
that this session be held, and the scheduled November session be eliminated. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of titles originally held by the
