Watkins. Resolutions on Bank of the U.S., 1834
December 31, 1834 Resolution proposed by Mr. Watkins, and substitute of Mr Shell, regarding the Bank of the United States. The initial resolution
sought to rescind the prior session's request to return public money to this bank; instead, the United States senators should refuse to renew the bank
and continue to keep public money in state banks. The substitution would simply allow the senators to do what was best in the circumstances.
