1833? Report of the Special Committee to inquire into the state of the Public Guard. Testimony included in this document was used by the committee
to reach its conclusions. The resolutions were that the public guard pay should be increased for non-commissioned officers and privates; that
discretionary power of discipline should be abolished, substituting the rules of the United States army; and that monetary inducements should be given to
