House. Comm. on Resolutions from Alabama. Report on emancipating slaves, 1827
1827 Report of the Committee reviewing the report and resolution of the Alabama legislature which disapproved the resolutions of various Northern
states regarding the colonizing of free "people of color" and emancipating the slaves in the United States. The committee determined that only the
state could decide emancipation and resolved that the non-slave-holding states actions were "highly impolitic and destructive." (Digitized from a
microfilm copy of title originally held by the Library of Congress).
