January 21, 1833 Preamble and Resolution on the subject of federal relations issued by the Virginia General Assembly. Included in these resolutions
in opposition to the federal Tariff Laws, were resolutions requesting that South Carolina rescind its refusal to pay tariffs within its borders and
allow the United States government to act. While accepting states' rights, the Assembly did not accept South Carolina's positions. (Digitized from a
