|
|
1823 House bill regarding the navigation of the Potowmac (Potomac) River. Included were the appointment of three commissions, who along with three
from Maryland and the federal government would establish a subscription procedure to raise the necessary capital. In addition, the bill provided for
the election of a board of directors and president, who were authorized to perform all necessary work on the river in order to make it navigable.
