1868, Constitutional Convention proceedings 2v. in 1
Proceedings of the Constitutional Convention of South Carolina, held at Charleston, between Jan 14 to March 17, 1868. Included in these two volumes,
which were bound together, were debates and proceeding, all of which was recorded by shorthand reporters in order to insure accuracy. Of note, the
preface in volume 1 discussed the history of previous convention in South Carolina. Specifically, the president of the current convention indicated
that the 1865 framers of that constitution "had not yet learned the lessons of the war" to "recognize the just and equal rights of all [men]."
