1835, Constitutional Conv. Journal, June 4, 1835
Journal of the North Carolina Constitutional Convention to amend the Constitution, held in Raleigh from June 4 to July 11, 1835. After much
discussion, the amended constitution (beginning on page 95) was to be submitted to the freeman to accept or reject. The convention made some significant
changes in the structure of state government, including a more even distribution of representatives throughout the state, and the selection of the
governor by election rather than in the General Assembly. See LLMC #21262-67 for related material. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of titles originally
held by the Library of Congress).
