Wrapper: Confirmation from the Delaware Indians, August 25, 1737. Confirmation of lands from the Delaware Indians 25th Augt. 1737. Two of the
sachems of the Delaware had three years earlier begun a treaty with John and Thomas Penn. At that meeting, everyone discussed the fifty year old deeds
that had been made between the Delaware and William Penn to purchase land for the new colony. The metes and bounds showed a large tract with the
Delaware River on the east and the western boundary being a named creek that was as far as a man could walk due west. At that time, the Delaware asked to
be able to go back to their people and consider the matter. That took two years, but the Delaware were now (1737) in Philadelphia to say they were
convinced of the accuracy of the deed and would release and give a quit claim to the land described. Thirteen Englishmen and eighteen Delawares signed
