July 8, 1721 Treaty Conestogoe between Pennsylvania Governor William Keith and the Deputies of the Five Nations, which was published in Philadelphia.
Prefixed to the treaty was note from the publisher to the reader, which noted that the Indian village was west of Philadelphia and surrounded by
farms and plantations. Of note, the Five Nations was an Iroquois confederacy of the Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, and Seneca peoples; at these
meetings, representatives from the Onondaga, Seneca, and Cayuga tribes attended. Included in the discussions were tribal concerns regarding fair trade,
interference with the men going to war with other tribes aligned with Virginia (and thus friends of England), and the concerns about the growing
