1845, Governors' correspondence Ohio-Virginia
1845 Correspondence between the governors of Virginia and Ohio regarding an Ohio request to return fugitives accused of kidnapping three citizens
from Ohio and bringing them to Virginia. Of note, the kidnapped men were being prosecuted in Virginia; the alleged kidnappers were to be witnesses at
that trial. Governor McDowell then requested the return of men accused of luring and absconding with Virginian slaves; both sides seemed to be
unwilling to alter their positions. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of a title originally held by the Library of Congress).
