1833, Governor's communication of SC resolutions
January 25, 1833 Communication of Governor John Floyd to the General Assembly, regarding the attached South Carolina resolutions. The resolutions
called for a convention of states to consider certain disputed federal powers, a reference, undoubtedly, to the Tariff Acts and states' rights.
Referring to the "usurpations of the federal government" in exercising unconstitutional powers, Gov. Floyd supported the convention, although the final
decision was left to the legislature. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Library of Congress).
