1826, Mitchell. Communication on education of deaf and dumb in Kentucky

January 1, 1826 communication from DeWitt Clinton Mitchell to the governor of Virginia, regarding the system of education at the Kentucky Institution for the instruction of the Deaf and Dumb. Mitchell explained the use of sign language at the facility and volunteered to supervise a similar institution in Virginia, should it be considered by the legislature. Of note, reports mentioned at the end of the letter were not contained in these images. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Library of Congress).
