1870, Governor. Message on financial condition
|
|
March 8, 1870 message from Governor Gilbert C. Walker to the General Assembly regarding the financial condition of the state. Included in the
message were several financial statements, indicating that the state expenses exceeded receipts by over $67,000.00. However, the governor also indicated
that West Virginia would proportionally assume some of the public debt, and interest owed therein. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally
