1767-06-24, Letter concerning Late Pennsylvania Officers land purchase
June 24, 1767 letter from the Committee of late Pennsylvania Officers, addressed to Capt, Evan Shelby, which concerned the creations of Articles of
Agreement and payment for purchase and quit-rent for a large section of land for a settlement on the branches of the Susquehanna River, following the
next purchase from the Native Americans. The letter required Shelby to sign these articles if he was interested in owning part of the land.

Title:   York-Town, June, 1767 : Sir, by directions of the Committee of the late Pennsylvania officers, I am to inform you, that, at their meeting at Lancaster, on the 27th of last month, they framed a set of articles of agreement to be signed by such officers of the Pennsylvania regiment, who served in 1758 or 1759 ... for liberty to take up ... a large quantity of land for a settlement on the branches of the Susquehanna, as soon as the next purchase shall be made from the Indians ...
