March 1, 1816 Amendment to the act providing for the relief, support, employment and removal of the poor. The amendment included the ability of the
overseers of the poor to remove any dependent Narragansett tribe member from his respective town and deliver him to the Tribe. A penalty was assessed
should the Treasurer refuse to take said person, although the tribe could appeal the delivery. A penalty was also assessed for any poor Indian who
