March 26, 1787 Proclamation of the Supreme Executive Council which advised persons of the agreements between Virginia and Pennsylvania regarding the issuance of land patents; those applying for Virginia patents in what was part of Pennsylvania after the agreed June 23, 1780 were warned not to rely on those titles. A proclamation : Whereas a certain agreement was entered into between this Commonwealth and the Commonwealth of Virginia on the 31st day of August, 1779; which agreement was afterwards, to wit, on the 23d of June, 1780, confirmed by the State of Virginia, subject to the several conditions, one of which was, "That the private property and rights of all persons acquired under founded on, or recognized by the laws of either State ... " Given in Council ... at Philadelphia, this twenty-sixth day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand severn hundred and eighty-seven ....
