June 4, 1765 Proclamation by Lt. Governor John Penn allowing trade with the tribes of Northern and Western Indians, after obtaining a license, as
well against bandits who are preventing goods from reaching Fort Pitt. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of the title originally held by the Historical

Title:   A proclamation. : Whereas His Majesty, by His Royal Proclamation, given at St. James's the Seventh Day of October, One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty-three ... was graciously pleased to declare and enjoin, that the Trade with the several Nations of Tribes of Indians ... should be free and open to all His Majesty's Subjects whatever ... Given under my Hand, and the Great Seal of the said Province, at Philadelphia, the Fourth Day of June, in the Fifth Year of His Majesty's Reign, and in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty-five.
