Wrapper: May 11, 1756. Letter from Dunk Hallifax to Hunter Morris, Esqr. Deputy Governor of Pennsylvania. The letter was written at Grosvenor Square. Halifax introduced the Earl of Loudoun, sent to be the Supreme Commander of His Majesty's forces in North America. Halifax thought Loudoun would be easy to work with, but Morris was not to allow local politics to interfere with the mission. (Digitized from material held at the American Philosophical Society)
