1748?, Reasons for a duty on indico
|
|
1748? Broadside addressed to the Parliament, supporting the establishment of a duty on French and Spanish indigo, as well as providing a bounty for those grown in the British plantations. Of note, in this discussion, the author described the Negro slaves, working the "unhealthy" indigo cultivation, as living only five or six years. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of the title originally held by the John Carter Brown Library in Providence, Rhode Island).
