Title:   By His Excellency George Clinton, Esq ; governor of the state of New York ... proclamation : the appointment of delegates, to represent this state in the Congress of the United States ... and other important business, rendering it necessary to convene the legislature: I do therefore, hereby require the Senate and Assembly of this state, to convene at Poughkeepsie ... on Monday the first day of October next ... Given under my hand, and the privy-seal of the said state, at Poughkeepsie aforesaid, this sixth day of September ... 1781.
