July 27, 1649 English Act for promoting and propagating the Gospel of Jesus Christ in New England, printed in London. The act provided for a
corporation to collect money from a general collection of churches in England and Wales on a specified date, as well as from other sources. These funds
would be sent to New England commissioners for the conversion of Indians and to maintain schools and nurseries for their children. (Digitized from a
