1778-04-15, Draft bill of Parliament to quiet the disorders in North America
|
|
Broadside of a draft bill from the British Parliament proposed in order to quiet the disorders in North America. The bill contained a number of conciliatory resolutions, including an agreement not to not to tax the colonies by the Parliament's acts, and giving pardons following a return of allegiances to Britain. The document was read to the House of Commons and, by order of William Tryon of New York (Loyalist governor), handbills were distributed.
