1776-01-09, Resolution on pay for soldiers
January 9, 1776 Resolutions in the House of Representatives which established a travel pay to soldiers per General George Washington's request.
Washington also indicated the continued need for the militia; a resolution strongly recommending that soldiers and officers reenlist themselves.
