October 19, 1775 broadside issued by Governor Jonathan Trumbull of Connecticut, proclaiming an embargo on a number of goods and provisions that may
not be shipped out of the colony until June 1, 1776, with some noted exceptions. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of titles originally held by Yale
University Library, New Haven, Connecticut).
Title:   By the Honorable Jonathan Trumbull, Esq ; governor of the English colony of Connecticut, in New-England, in America: a proclamation : Whereas it is resolved by the General Assembly ... that an embargo be laid upon the exportation out of this colony by water, the following articles of provision, viz. wheat, rye, Indian corn, pork, beef, live cattle, peas, beans, butter, cheese, bread, flour, and every kind of meal (except necessary stores for vessels bound to sea;) and that such embargo continue and remain until the first day of June next ... I do hereby strictly prohibit and forbid all persons from transporting ... any of the aforesaid articles ... Given under my hand in the Council chamber in New-Haven, this 19th day of October ... 1775.
