1857 Report of the Connecticut Joint Standing Committee on federal relations with attached resolutions and a bill for a public act. This committee responded to the Dred Scott case by indicating its displeasure regarding same; and resolved that the Connecticut federal legislators should never allow any new slave holding states in the union; and reaffirming the Connecticut citizenship of freed slaves.
