Reasons for repeal of Sec. 8 of the medical laws, 1837.

A document regarding a few reasons to repeal the eighth section of the Medical Laws of Connecticut, printed in 1837. This section required
physicians to be licensed and members of the Medical Society (or be unable to collect fees); petitioners argued that this is an unfair monopoly, particularly
as that medical system could not be considered "perfect" and some patients wanted to consult "Botanical Physicians." See, LLMC #20101 for a related

A few reasons for the repeal of the eighth section of the medical laws of this state : which excludes irregular practitioners from the benefits of law in the collection of fees, or the passage of a "public act," giving to botanic practitioners rights and privileges in common with their fellow citizens.
