September 12, 1768 petition to Gov. Francis Bernard of Massachusetts Bay from the citizens of Boston. Among topics, the committee presented its
position that keeping the standing British army in worn would a violation of prior decrees, as their presence was not agreed to by the inhabitants. Of
note, Samuel Adams and John Hancock were named participants of this committee. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the New
