Two copies of a June 6, 1695 Broadside issued by Gov. Benjamin Fletcher. The proclamation indicated that the governor had ordered The Richmond to cruise waters to protect against French privateers; thus, merchants, mariners and others could safely pursue their employment. Of note, the original was held at the New York State Library.
