Laws, Statutes, Ordinances and Constitutions of New York City, published in 1749. These laws and such were a result of meetings of the mayor,
recorder, aldermen and assistants of the New York City, who met to establish the rules and government for its inhabitants. An appendix was also included,
which contained extracts from acts from the New York General Assembly which dealt with the governance of New York City. Of note, page 12 dealt with a
law for "regulating Negroes, Mulattoes, and other Slaves," in certain areas and after certain times. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title

Title:   Laws, statutes, ordinances, and constitutions, ordained, made and established, by the mayor, recorder, aldermen, and assistants, of the city of New-York, convened in Common-Council, for the good rule and government of the inhabitants and residents of the said city : published the twenty-seventh day of January, and the first day of February, in the twenty second year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second, by the grace of God, of Great Britain, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith &c. annoque Domini 1748. And in the mayoralty of Edward Holland, Esq : to which is added, an appendix, containing extracts of sundry acts of the General Assembly of the colony of New-York, immediately relating to the good government of the said city and corporation.
