Description and Holding Information
1629-03-04, Massachusetts Bay charter (MS)
A manuscript copy of the Charter granted to the Massachusetts Bay Company by Charles I on March 4, 1629. The Company succeeded the New England
Company. Transcribed by Edward Hutchinson (1613-1675) between 1665 and 1675 according to the Boston Athenaeum. Of note, there are some margin notes in this
document; however the document has "bleeding" throughout making parts difficult to read. For a published version of this document with mordernized
spellings, consult LLMC 23348. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Boston Athenaeum).
