The 1853 Constitutional Propositions adopted by the Convention of Delegates assembled in May 1853; included was the address to people of the state
prior to ratification vote. A preface indicated that amendments adopted by the convention which are separate articles or paragraphs are printed in
solid form, surrounded by brackets. Those amendments which are added to an existing portion are printed in italics. There are also some margin notes
