1785-86, U.S. treaties with Shawanese, Cherokee, Choctaw, Chickasaw (MS)
1786 Letter of transmittal and four treaties of the United States and the Shawanee, Cherokee, Chickasaw and Choctaw Nations. Included in the January
31, 1786 treaty with the Shawanese was an acknowledgement that the right of the United States to land ceded by Great Britain as well as a return of
three hostages (LLMC #22112, part 2). The November 28, 1785 treaty with the Cherokee Nation included a prisoner swap and an establishment of
boundaries (LLMC #22112, part 3), as was found in the January 10, 1786 treaty with the Chickasaw (LLMC #22112, part 4) and the January 3, 1786 treaty with the
