April 15, 1780 Proclamation James Roberson and Major General of British forces, who was appointed over the New York. His orders were to restore the General Assembly, courts, and other civil government offices and for inhabitants to show allegiance to the King. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of titles originally held by the American Antiquarian Society Library in Worcester, Massachusetts (c.1) and the Massachusetts Historical Society Library(c.2)).
