Manuscript of the Records of the New York Committee of Correspondence formed by nominations from merchants and other gentlemen in the colony of New
York, in order to correspond with the other colonies. The committee began on May 16, 1774. After some initial decisions regarding structure, there
are various communications to comparable organizations in other colonies, as well as the establishment of an election process for all freemen and
