manuscripts, February 28, 1923. ( The clemency review file of Doyle Lindsay, a Private in the 24th Infantry, who was accused of willful disobedience, joining a
mutiny, murder of 14 persons, and assault with intent to kill 8 persons in connection with the race riots in Houston, Texas on August 23, 1917. He was
sentenced to be confined to hard labor for 15 years. The file includes a memo to the Adjutant General of the Army from the Acting Judge Advocate,
and various communications from the Judge Advocate General's Office regarding the case.)
