1924, ( The clemency review file of Albert L. Hunter, a Private in the 24th Infantry, who was accused of willful disobedience of an order, mutiny,
murder of 14 persons, and assault with intent to kill 8 persons in connection with the race riots in Houston, Texas on August 23, 1917. He received a 19
year sentence which was reduced from life. In October of 1924 the Judge Advocate General approved the findings of the Board of Parole and he was
granted parole. The file contains the Report of the Clemency Board, a letter from the Assistant Judge Advocate General, and a review of the record of his
trial.)
