Infantry. He was convicted by a general court-martial convened at Fort Sam Houston, Texas on November 1, 1917 of the offenses of disobedience of orders,
mutiny, murder, and felonious assault in connect with the race riots of the 24th Infantry on August 24,1917. He was sentenced to hard labor for the
term of his natural life. The Acting Judge Advocate General's Office did not recommend clemency.)
