handwritten, Judge Advocate General's Office, June 5, 1934. ( The clemency review file of Joseph Wardlow, formerly a Private in the 24th Infantry, who
was convicted of disobeying an order to remain in camp, mutiny, murder, and assault with intent to commit murder in connection with the race riots of
the 24th Infantry, August 23, 1917 in Houston, Texas. He was sentenced to be dishonorably discharged, with total forfeitures, and confined in the
Penitentiary for life. The Clemency Board recommended that the rest of his sentence be remitted.)
