and manuscripts, 20 p., Office of the Judge Advocate General,1935. ( The clemency file of former Private Allie C. Butler who was convicted by a
General Court Martial of mutiny, murder, and assault with intent to commit murder in connection with the riots of the 24th Infantry in Houston, Texas on
August 23rd, 1917. He was dishonorably discharged and confined in the penitentiary for life. The file contains a memorandum from the Adjutant General's
Office dated April 19, 1922 supporting a denial of clemency, a Report of the Clemency Board dated April 7, 1924, and a recommendation by the Judge
Advocate General dated June 28, 1935 that the remainder of his sentence be remitted.)
